It is difficult to say how long the old market of Madrid Legazpi, where fruit was once traded, stood idle before Madrid officials nevertheless approved the project for its reconstruction. Now the fate of a large square with former shopping pavilions is completely in the hands of engineers and architects who have expressed a desire to turn the neglected place into a modern entertainment complex.
According to preliminary information, in case of successful implementation of the project, an impressive building with an area of at least 30 thousand square meters will appear on the site of the old market. Part of the premises will be set aside for the needs of the city administration, and the rest of the area will be designed for visitors to all kinds of circles, associations, sports clubs and art clubs.
An impressive play area and even an impressive public library will be provided. But the main highlight of the engineers is the impressive area of green spaces, which will occupy more than half of the entire territory of the complex!
The cost of the planned work is estimated at a minimum of 50-70 million euros, and work on the construction of the complex is planned to begin immediately after the public hearings. It also became known that if the project is successful, it will become part of the famous Madrid-Rio park, which was created a little earlier on the site of an old highway.
